FASAHAT – BECAUSE THAT IS OUR HISTORY

The Qasr Al-Mshatta Relief, one of the main attractions of the Pergamon Museum, stands between furniture from a refugee registration facility. Red, plastic plates hang at the Ishtar Gate. What stories are told here that would otherwise remain unheard?
While in the museum, historical artefacts are isolated from people and their present context, in the refugee home, people are separated from their histories. In this exhibition, the artists of FASAHAT create an in-between space in Galerie im Turm in which they use hybrid monuments to bridge between past and present, and other lived realities.

In Arabic, Fasahat refers to empty spaces, but also to walks that give hope. As part of a Community Art project initiated by Nahed Mansour, inhabitants of the refugee accommodation “An der Havel” last year transformed a section of the site into a museum. Together with other artists both with and without refugee experience, they drafted their own spaces and monuments. They relate to several visits to the Pergamon Museum, and to artefacts with which the participants have a deep connection due to their backgrounds. The architectures and lived realities of the refugee home are interwoven into self-built monuments, forming new places for social encounters and cultural education onsite.

This summer, FASAHAT will be continued and a new exhibition will open. Galerie im Turm will be explored as a third space that, beyond institutional formats such as the museum or the refugee home, offers the possibility for new proximities, meanings and modes in the writing of history.

“فسحات”

لان ذاك هو تاريخنا  

معرض للفنانة ناهد منصور بالاشتراك مع الفنانة فاطمة عبده والفنان رائد الحميد والفنان كيفان الكارجوسلي والفنانة نغم حموش والفنان محمد ربيع السكيف

صحون بلاستيكية حمراء معلقة على بوابة عشتار. قصر المُشَتَّى، الذي يعد من أبرز المعالم السياحية الجذابة لمتحف برجامون في برلين ينتصب بين قطع الأثاث في ملجأ إيواء اللاجئين الجدد الواقع على مشارف مدينة برلين، فما الحكايات التي سنسردها هنا ولا تُروى عادةً؟

في الوقت الذي تبقى فيه الآثار التاريخية معزولةً عن الإنسان وحاضره في المتاحف، يُفصل اللاجئون عن تاريخهم في الملاجئ، ولذلك؛ سيقوم فنانو وفنانات «فسحات» في معرضهم القادم بتخصيص مكان آخر في صالة عرض „معرض في البرج“؛ وهو مكان يُمكِّنهم من إنشاء جسرٍ يربط بين ماضيهم وواقع حياتهم اليومي من خلال آثار هجينة

تصف كلمة «فسحات» باللغة العربية المساحات الخالية، وفي نفس الوقت تعني جولات التنزه التي تبعث على الأمل، فقد قام سكان الملجأ الواقع على نهر الهافل في عام 2019 بتحويل جزءٍ من ملجئهم إلى متحف خاص بهم، وذلك في إطار مشروع الفن المجتمعي الذي أطلقته الفنانة ناهد منصور، حيث قام سكان الملجأ بالاشتراك مع فنانين آخرين منهم من عاش تجربة لجوء بنفسه بتصميم آثار وفسحات خاصة بهم، حيث تمتزج كل أعمالهم وابتكاراتهم التي تحاكي آثار متحف برجامون مع تاريخ الغرف وواقع الحياة في الملجأ، إذ تربط متحف برجامون علاقة وثيقة بالمشاركين نظراً للعلاقة بين تاريخهم وموطنهم في الشرق ونوعية الآثار التاريخية الشرقية المعروضة في المتحف، فقد .قام المشاركون والمشاركات منذ ذلك التاريخ ببناء أماكن جديدة وخلقوا فرصًا للتلاقي والتعليم الثقافي

ستستأنف «فسحات» نشاطها في صيف هذا العام وسيُفتتح معرض جديد في صالة „معرض في البرج“، اذ يشكل المعرض الجديد «فضاءا ثالث» يعطي الفرصة للتعرف على جيرة جديدة ولفهم معانٍ وأنماط جديدة لكتابة التاريخ بعيداً عن المؤسسات المتحفية ودُور اللاجئين
