Wie versprochen holen wir den Workshop Salon Salaam meets Şipşak Druck, der ursprünglich im Rahmen der Ausstellung Revolting Spines and Shivering Chains hätte stattfinden sollen mit euch nach!
Diesen Freitag, am 10.12.2021, ab 16 Uhr laden die Galerie im Turm, Rüzgâr Buşki und Sabuha Salaam zu einem entspannten Freitagnachmittag ein. Folge Sabuha Salaam auf eine geführte Tour in die spirituelle Welt des Kaffee- und Kartenlesens oder erstelle dein eigenes Kunstwerk in Rüzgârs Pop-up-Siebdruckwerkstatt Şipşak Druck.
As promised, we are bringing you the workshop Salon Salaam meets Şipşak Druck, which was originally supposed to take place as part of the exhibition Revolting Spines and Shivering Chains in November!
This Friday, on December 10, 2021 from 4pm Galerie im Turm, Rüzgâr Buşki and Sabuha Salaam invite you for a relaxed Friday afternoon. Follow Sabuha Salaam on a guided tour into the spirit world of coffee and card reading or produce your unique artwork in Rüzgâr’s pop-up screen-printing workshop Şipşak Druck.
Die Veranstaltung ist Teil der Gruppenausstellung Revolting Spines and Shivering Chains und war ursprünglich für den 14.11.2021 geplant, musste aber verlegt werden. Rüzgâr Buşki war mit einer Siebdruckarbeit in der Ausstellung vertreten. Wir freuen uns sehr, dass die Veranstaltung nachträglich während der aktuell laufenden Ausstellung Slow Motion von Lola Arias stattfinden kann.
The event is part of the group exhibition Revolting Spines and Shivering Chains and was originally scheduled for November 14, 2021, but had to be rescheduled. Rüzgâr Buşki was represented in the exhibition with a silk screen work. We are delighted that the event can now take place during the currently running exhibition Slow Motion by Lola Arias.
In ihren Kaffee- und Kartenlesungen öffnet Sabuha Salaam einen Raum, in dem Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft betrachtet werden können. Im Wechsel zwischen innerer und äußerer Welt, spiegelt sie Geist, Herz und Seele ihrer Gäst:innen wider. Salon Salaam ist ein Raum jenseits der westlichen Vorstellung von einem normalen Leben.
In her coffee and card readings, Salaam offers a space to examine past, present and future. She mirrors the inside and outside world of her guests, bringing together their mind, heart and soul. Salon Salaam is a room to feel ourselves outside of the Western perception of how a normal life should be led.
Şipşak Druck ist eine mobile Siebdruckwerkstatt, die von Rüzgâr und der Künstlerin Hannah Kirmes-Daly initiiert wurde. Die Werkstatt kann unter anderem genutzt werden für horizontales Verlernen, politische Aktionen und zur Kunstvermittlung. „Şipşak" bedeutet auf Türkisch "spontan", "Schnappschuss", "schnell". Im Rahmen der Druckwerkstatt verweist der Begriff auf die kollektive Freude am kreativen Experimentieren und auf Räume für spontanen Dialog und Austausch. Siebdruck ist zugänglich und macht Spaß. Gleichzeitig kann es als politisches Tool funktionieren.
Şipşak Druck is a mobile screen-printing workshop initiated by Rüzgâr and Hannah Kirmes-Daly. It is a space for horizontal unlearning, political actions and art mediation. In Turkish, the term 'Şipşak' means 'spontaneous', 'snapshot', 'quick'. Within the context of the screen-printing workshop, Şipşak refers to collective enjoyment of creative experimentation as well as spaces for impromptu dialogue and exchange. Screen-printing is accessible and enjoyable while it has the potential to function as a political tool at the same time.

Rüzgâr Buşki ist ein:e in Berlin lebende:r Künstler:in und Regisseur:in aus Istanbul. Ihre künstlerische Praxis erstreckt sich auf die Bereiche Druckgrafik, Performance, Video und Film. Buşkis Arbeiten thematisieren Körper und Identität als soziale Konstrukte, das Selbst als futuristische Landschaft und die menschliche Existenz als Gegenstand der Dekonstruktion. Ihre Assemblagen von Selbst, Gemeinschaft und Gesellschaft verändern die Routinen des Alltags mit Ironie und Humor und bieten Möglichkeiten für einen plötzlichen Wandel im Unbekannten. 2013 hat Buşki die Kanka Productions mitbegründet, ein transfeministisches Kreativzentrum.
Rüzgâr Buşki is an artists and director from Istanbul based in Berlin. Their artistic practice varies within printmaking, performance, video and film. Rüzgâr's works tackle body and identity as social constructs, self as a futuristic landscape and human condition as a subject of deconstruction. Their assemblages of self-community-society alter the routines of everyday life with irony and humor, holding possibilities for a sudden change in the unknown. They co-founded Kanka Productions in 2013, a transfeminist creative hub.
Sabuha Salaam ist in Zentralanatolien geboren und in Bochum aufgewachsen. Sie ist gelernte Friseur*in, begabte Kaffeesatz- bzw. Kartenleser*in und Alltagspolitiker*in. Jeden letzten Samstag im Monat steht sie als Zeremonienmeisterin der „orientalischen“ LGBTIQ*-Party Gayhane auf der Bühne. Salaam war Ende der neunziger Jahre Mitbegründer*in von GLADT e. V. Ursprünglich ein Verein für Gays und Lesbians aus der Türkei, entwickelte sich GLADT zu einer selbstständigen Organsiation von Schwarzen und of Color LGBTIQ*s in Berlin.
Sabuha Salaam was born in Central Anatolia and grew up in Bochum. She is a trained hairdresser, a talented coffee grounds and card reader, and an everyday politician. Every last Saturday of the month she is master of ceremonies at Gayhane, the 'oriental' LGBTIQ* party. Salaam was a co-founder of GLADT e. V. in the late nineties. Originally an association for gays and lesbians from Turkey, GLADT developed into an independent organization of black and of color LGBTIQ*s in Berlin.
