Lesbian Peoples: Reading Group with COVEN BERLIN

with Harley Aussoleil, Frances Breden, Lorena Juan, Kiona H. Niehaus, & Louise Trueheart

29 Oct 25, 7.00–8.30 pm

Circulation
Physical process of intermingling two bodies. Given two bodies full of heat and electricity released from the skin through every pore, if these two bodies embrace, vibrate and begin to mix, there is a circulation and conduction reaction which causes each pore to reabsorb the energy that it had previously emitted in another form. This phenomenon, by the rapid transformation of heat and electricity into energy, produces an intense irradiation from those bodies which are practicing circulation. It is what the companion lovers mean when they say, “I circulate you,” or “you circulate me.”

– Lesbian Peoples, Wittig & Zeig, 1979

We will be reading from Lesbian Peoples: Material for a Dictionary by Monique Wittig and Sande Zeig (1979)

You don’t need to have read or to be familiar with the book; we will provide printouts of the material, and read excerpts aloud during the event. The goal of our reading groups is to come together to enjoy the pleasure and process of reading aloud to one another in a low-stakes, approachable, drop-in format.

COVEN BERLIN is a queer art collective focused on feminism, love, gender, and sexuality.

This event will be held in spoken English.

Free entry.

You’re warmly invited!
