Fête de la Musique Concert

Becky is a drag and performance artist as well as a musician. During the pandemic, they created their first YouTube music videos, which evolved into charming concerts featuring lots of makeup and minimalist drumming. Their songs offer intimate glimpses into today’s queer Berlin while looking back at the East German provinces of yesterday, oscillating between deep melancholy and amusing absurdity. With a DIY musical attitude and lyrics in both German and English—sometimes poetic, sometimes painfully direct—they creates delicate little worlds that linger in the mind.

Becky’s songs are thoughtfully playful, somewhere between singer-songwriter, alternative rock, and chanson.
