This evening of short films gives a space to collectively process the experience of watching short-form content on platform economies such as TikTok and Instagram, especially depictions of war, military propaganda, and the body as a seductive weapon. The titular ‘egirl’, or ‘electronic girl’, is employed here as a ‘psyop’, a covert US military psychological operation.

Building on the concept of internet cinema developed by film curators such as Dana Dawud, the selection brings close attention to content often passed over as useless digital slop. Through the relentless brutality, sexuality, and absurdity of the livestream, moments of serenity and serendipity break through. Come for a deeper understanding of the internet as a military technology, stay for the AI-induced spiritual psychosis!
