Artificial Intelligence for Newbies

What really is Artificial Intelligence (short: AI)? And how does it work? Harley Aussoleil (curator and member of the art collective COVEN BERLIN) loves memes and internet culture(s) and is here to guide you through these complex concepts to break down AI into digestible parts. After a tour through Maithu Bùi’s exhibition, participants are invited to take part in a workshop exploring the basics of AI, its everyday presence in our lives, and its often hidden role in the militarization of borders and mass surveillance. Participants will learn in simple terms how Artificial Intelligence works so they can apply that information to understand the broad spectrum of ways AI is applied everyday: its benefits as well as the ways in which AI proliferates preexisting power structures in our societies.
